The Filet Mignon takes 45 minutes to cook instead of the normal 20 minute wait. The past two dining experiences (on Mondays) have been the same. For some reason, as summer approaches (maybe its the morons that are hired as summer help), both the food and service deteriorate greatly, especially on Mondays. Usually the food is excellent and the service very good. I always have a house salad and a well done Filet Mignon. I loved this angle of the ceiling at Harpoon Willy’s – in all my years in Portsmouth, I don’t think I’d ever realized that there was a ceiling fan here….above the ceiling fan you can see the skeleton of the Martingale Wharf building still under construction on Bow Street. Although the deck didn’t stay open after dusk (the outdoor lights aren’t yet working for the season) – it was a nice reminder of the warm afternoons to come.
